Roger anchors WNBF First News every weekday morning from 5:30 – 9 AM.  Thousands of area residents start their day with Roger and Kathy Whyte. In a career that began in Western Pa., Roger has and continues to Wear a variety of hats.  Along with his Morning Show duties Roger serves as Program Director of WNBF and WYOS 1360 AM.  In addition for the past eight seasons he has been the play-by-play Voice of the Binghamton University Bearcats men’s basketball team calling the action of all games home and away.  The Bearcats have played as far away as Alaska, Utah, Florida, Iowa and North Carolina.  In 1978 Roger came to Broome County to work as the play-by-play broadcaster for the American Hockey League’s Broome Dusters.  Following 2 seasons with the Dusters Roger called all the action of the Binghamton Whalers for 6 seasons. He was elected to the Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. Area baseball fans recognize Neels’s voice as he served as the Stadium Public Address announcer for the Binghamton Mets for 12 seasons working over 800 Eastern League games.
